Toulouse at Christmas time? Crowded streets and stores (like everywhere where Christmas is celebrated!), street lights, the annual Christmas market in the Place du Capitole, the very center of the city, this year, for children and adults alike, the display of an imaginary journey to an enchanted land of confectioneries – “Père Noël au pays des friandises” or “Santa in the land of delicious sweets” – located in the interior court of Toulouse’s City Hall, and in the city’s Catholic churches the traditional “Crèche de Noël”: the re-creation of the nativity scene.
Some presentations of the nativity scene are very elaborate – like, this year, the one in the Notre Dame de la Dalbade church – and every year, all over France, there are even organized tours all that bring visitors to the most outstanding “crèches” of a city or even a region.
Hi, I am Carla. I am living and working in the beautiful city of Toulouse, France.
I like history, travel and... the southwest of France and try to share through this blog information about events that might be of interest to the travelers to this part of the world!
