Another Good Reason to Visit the South West of France

Recently – on August 5th 2014 – Condé Nast (arguably the foremost leader in travel information) published its survey of the world’s 10 most friendly/unfriendly cities.
And…surprise (or not so much of a surprise) 3 French cities “won” their place in the list of the most …unfriendly cities – fortunately none of them in the south west of France (Wheeeeeee)!

The 5th place belongs to Marseille which while a wonderfully located, architecturally and culturally endowed city – its Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations inaugurated in 2013 is one of the most important museums of France – puts off tourists because of its high insecurity and pickpockets infested streets.

The 4th place belongs to …the city of lights Paris! Parisians are perceived by the participants in the Condé Nast survey as impolite – not willing even to help the tourists with finding their way – or even downright rude!(And not to forget here too the pickpockets and the beggars that pollute the surroundings of the most important tourist attractions).

The second place is occupied by Cannes… the “jewel” of the Côte d’Azur which apparently is not so much of a jewel except during the time of the famous festival and for celebrities interested individuals (I have never understood why French call celebrities: “people”! To me it is like the rest of us are not…”people”).
