Medieval Festival of Bourg-sur-Gironde
Bourg-sur-Gironde is a town located some 40km north of Bordeaux.
The Medieval Festival is held every first weekend of September.

Fête du mascaret
Each year in September the town of Vayres organizes the "Fête du mascaret". Mascaret
is the French name of a tidal wave that goes up the Gironde estuary and the Dordonge and Garonne Rivers (this phenomenon exists only in few other parts of the world including: the Amanzon in Brazil and Severn River in England).
Animations include surfing demonstrations, music, water sports animations etc.
Vayres is situated 25km (16mi) east of Bordeaux city center.
"World Longest Marathon "(!) goes through the vineyards of the famous appellations of Pauillac, St-Julien, St Estephe and Haut-Médoc. It passes by 52 of the most famous wine chateaux in the region and there are 23 music bands that accompany the runners on their course.
Many of the participants run in fancy costumes and the volunteers at the first aid station hold out wine. On the course there is also a station for oyster tasting as well as beefsteaks tasting.

Finger Food Lunch at Patiras
Patiras is an 4.5km long 1km wide island in the Gironde Estuary in front of the town of Pauillac.
Every Saturday at 12:00pm from May 3rd to October 25th 2014 the Office de Tourisme of Pauillac organises visits of the island with the taxi-boat "The Silnet".
Once arrived a finger food lunch is served in the dégustaton room or tent depending on the season. A welcome drink and coffee are included and one can buy wine on-site. One can also discover the lighthouse and beautiful panorama.
Lighthouse of Patiras, situated on the north-east tip, has guided ships for over 100 years. Today, acquired and restored by the Conservatoire du Littoral, it became a belvedere spot and offers a magnificent panorama of the Gironde estuary. 4 days per year tours are free, only the boat to access has to be paid. These visits are offered Thursday, May 1, Monday, July 14, Friday, August 15 and Sunday, September 14, 2014.

Pauillac Gironde Estuary Cruises
Discover, during a 1 1/2 hour cruise, the history of the Gironde estuary, its islands and the "Chateaux" of the Rives Médocaines.

Saint Emilion "Ban des Vendanges"

Crafts and Gastronomy Days
Each year in May the "Crafts and Gastronomy Days" take place in the Théodore Denis park of Dax. It is a meeting of local artisans proposing not only their products but also demonstrations and workshops. Lot of animations, traditional songs and dances etc.

Mutton Festival of Luz-Saint-Sauveur
The festival dedicated to the local sheep breed celebrates each year the return of the flocks in the valley after spending the whole summer in the high altitude pastures.

This festival that starts at the end of August and ends in the middle of October includes "The Lamb Festival" of Escot in late August, "The Garbure World Championship" in Oloron-Sainte-Marie on the first weekend of September, "The Salt Festival" of Salies-de-Béarn, "The Festival of Béarn Chants" in Siros at the end of September and "The Festival of Corn" in Laàs in the middle of October.

Brantome - Boat Circuit
Brantome, called the Venice of Perigord, is situated some 24km (15.5 mi) north of Periguéux.

La Truffière des Mérigots
Visit a truffle producing farm.

Boat Trip on Dordogne
