For the fifth time, the town of Valras-Plage (some 16km or 10mi south of Bèziers) hosts the "Speed Boat Race", the official championship of France Offshore Grand Prix. The race which will take place on Saturday 11 and Sunday, May 12 2013.
Organized under the auspices of the French Federation Powerboating (FFM) and the "Offshore Passion" club, this event is unique of its kind.
The two days of festivities will be punctuated by water animations, baptisms offshore exhibition cars.

Every year in the month of May the Union of the Grands Crus of Bordeaux organizes the Weekend of Grands Crus.
It is a rare opportunity to taste more than 100 wines from all the grand domains of Bordeaux. The weekend includes also vineyards tours, dinners at the estates and even a golf tournament ("Union des Grands Crus Trophy").

Bordeaux wine Côte de Bourg appellation celebrates each year in May, since 1993, its wine with an Open House event.
Côte de Bourg appellation spreads on 15 wine communes on the right banks of Dordogne and Gironde at around 35 km north of Bordeaux.
Lots of animations, up to 100 wine chateaux open to visit and wine tasting and a "between the vineyards" car rally open to everybody.

The World Championship of Cliff Diving that takes place every year in the middle of May is one of the "not to e missed" events of La Rochelle. The divers are jumping from the 26 meters heigh Saint Nicholas Tower in the Vieux Port of the city.
This event is one of the six Cliff Diving competitions that takes place each year in natural or urban sites of exception in Europe, Central America and North America.
