March 2014 Newsletter
February 28, 2014
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening (depending on the side of the planet!!!)
One of the important events of February was, like it is each year, the publication of the Michelin Guide 2014.
There are winners - 64 new stars awarded - and of course there are restaurants that for 2014 are losing their stars.
In the south west of France there are eight (1 star) new comers (for their list you can click here). Among them 2 stand out for the reason of their exceptionally accessible prices : "Le Fanal" in the town of Banyuls - menus starting at €19 at lunch time during workweek days - and "Auberge du Cellier" in the town of Montner with menus starting at €22 at lunch time, Monday to Friday. Both restaurants are located in the department of Pyrenees Orientales.
And news of the news, the first European "Winter is coming" ("Game of Thrones") Convention will take place March 14-16 in the very Cité de Carcassonne with lots of medieval themed activities.
