Little Train of Artouste

"Corn Feast" at Chateau Làas

Bearn region, where Laàs Domain is located, is among the first regions of Europe to cultivate corn after it was brought from the "New World".
The "Corn Feast" takes place since 2000 during the second weekend of October.

"Stars Of Pau" Equestrian Competition

The "Stars of Pau" represents the only International 4 stars three-day event of France.
This event is a part of the closed circle of equestrian events of the world that include: Burghley, Badminton, Kentucky, Adelaïde, Lühmuhlen and Pau.
The event has been taking place each year in the month of October since 1990.

Hera deu Hromatge

"Hera deu Hromatge" means in the local béarnais language "The Cheese Fair".
Each year the little town of Laruns - some 40km (25 mi) south of Pau - holds on the first weekend of October a famous Cheese Fair.
The fair features street traditional songs and dances, old crafts, a cheese competition, farmer's market, demonstrations of sheep shearing etc.

September in Béarn

This festival that starts at the end of August and ends in the middle of October includes "The Lamb Festival" of Escot in late August, "The Garbure World Championship" in Oloron-Sainte-Marie on the first weekend of September, "The Salt Festival" of Salies-de-Béarn, "The Festival of Béarn Chants" in Siros at the end of September and "The Festival of Corn" in Laàs in the middle of October.

Visit Jurançon Wine Cave

Jurançon is the emblematic wine of Bearn (even Henri IV at his birth was made to swallow few drops of Jurançon as it was the custom in Bearn at the time!).
The caves of the Jurancon, with its ageing, assembling and wine bottling facilities, are open for visiting (on appointment) and tasting.

Jurançon Wine House

The "Jurançon Wine House" offers the possibility of tasting of 150 different wines from the Jurançon denomination (AOC Juraçon) as well as Madiran, Irouléguy and other South West wines.
The House organizes all year round wine tasting classes and a variety of events centered around the wine.
The Jurançon Wine House is situated in the town of Lacommand that includes also a Knights Hospitallers Commandery built in the beginning of the 12th century.
