La Rochelle Aquarium

The aquarium of La Rochelle, located in the heart of the city, is one of Europe's largest private aquariums. Spread on a surface of 8,445 m2 (or more than 90,000ft2) , it is the home of more than 12,000 animals of 600 different species that live in more than 3 million liters of sea water.
Each year the aquarium welcomes more than 800,000 visitors, making it the most visited aquarium in France.

"Clasic au port" Classical Music Festival

Exceptional stopover of Pen Duicks at the marina in Rochefort

Pen Duick is the name of Éric Tabarly's first old-style sailboat. It is also the name of other sailboats, from Pen Duick II to Pen Duick VI. This name means in Breton (the writing is French, the correct spelling being Penn Duig) "small black head" (pen: head, from: black, and ick is the mark of the diminutive).

Visit the Ile de Ré sea urchin hatchery

"Un Violon sur le Sable" (Fiddler on the Sand) Classical Music Festival

This year marks the 26th edition of the "Un Violon sur le Sable" festival.
Three nights of classical music concerts on the ocean beach of Royan.
Up to 50,000 are expected each year. Concerts are free for beach places and paid for galleries.
